Julie Berry opened Berry Sweet Tea Parties in July of 2006 after being inspired by a visit with her sister and three daughters to a quaint teahouse in a small Texas town.  “I wish there was a place like this back home where the ladies could get together and children could experience an old-fashioned tea party” thought Julie, and within 3 months she had decided that there would be such a place and found a beautiful 1900 era home for her new venture in old town Beaverton .   Emily Andrews Portrait Design occupied the bottom floor of the house and was using the upstairs space primarily for storage.  Julie, with the help of family and friends, transformed the two upstairs rooms into an enchanting space where tea lovers can escape back in time, relax from the pace of the busy world, and enjoy good company, great treats, and a delicious variety of loose leaf teas.

Julie grew up in Beaverton and, in fact, went to pre-school across the street from where her tea house is now located!  Prior to starting a family, Julie was an Occupational Therapy Assistant, working with both adults and special needs children.  Julie’s warm personality, sense of humor, and attention to detail makes her a great hostess for your special event.  Whether teaching children about proper etiquette, sharing her knowledge of tea history, or helping expectant mothers or brides-to-be with “shower games”, Julie is a natural at customizing parties to her guests wishes.  In the summer months, Berry Sweet Tea Parties also features a beautiful garden setting for larger outdoor parties.   Julie can also bring the tea party to your home if desired.
Julie has been featured in The Oregonian, Valley Times, and Portland Tribune as well as KPTV’s “Good Day Oregon” and KATU’s “AM Northwest”.

When not pouring tea, Julie stays very busy with her husband, daughters, and three family dogs.
